Say Yes To The Sprouts!!

OffTheWheatenPathTT

When I tell people how much I love Brussel Sprouts, I often get this look from them, almost as if they’re saying “are you crazy!” But my answer is yes!! I’m crazy for Brussel Sprouts! They are in my top 10 favourite vegetables and they are not leaving there anytime soon.

However, as much as I love them now, I must admit that I wasn’t always a fan. The first time I tried them, they were just steamed and put on my plate with some salt. Let me tell you, they were not the most appetizing things ever.  And I think that is what happens to most people that throws them off the train to Brussels.

Like with most foods, if it isn’t done right it can have the opposite of what you expect. But not to fear! I have a foolproof method of preparing them, that makes them taste soooo good every time, you will have no trouble eating them from here on. Plus, there is hardly any work involved and it’s finished in about 30 mins, making it the perfect addition to your Holiday sides or just about anytime. (I eat them like candy)

Here is the recipe! I hope it changes your mind and makes them one of you new favourite sides.

  2. Add prepared sprouts to a bowl, add garlic, salt and pepper to taste (about 1 tsp) , and red pepper flakes (this depends on how spicy you want them). Next add 1/2 cup olive oil and toss until fully coated. If you need add the extra 1/4 cup to ensure they are well covered.Sprouts-2.jpg
  3. Lay them out on a foil or parchment lined sheet tray, spreading them evenly making sure they are all flat and not on top of each other.Sprouts.jpg
  4. Roast them in the oven at 425 F for about 20 – 30 mins, tossing them half way through to make sure they are evenly roasted.Sprouts-6.jpg
  5. Remove from oven, add to a bowl and drizzle honey. Toss to coat and enjoy!!! You can also add more red pepper flakes for added spicy.
