Friday Finds: Soups

OffTheWheatenPathTT

Happy Friday Foodies! We’re trying something new and we hope you enjoy it!

Let’s face it, we all need inspiration in some sort of form or fashion. It’s hard creating recipes everyday whether it be for breakfast lunch or dinner. From chefs to home cooks, we all look somewhere for inspiration.

Every week as I plan what recipes I’m going to make, I troll pinterest, comb through my cookbook and search on google for recipes that look like something I’d like to try. Not all of them are gluten free but with a little tweaking and some creative liberty, we’re remaking some of these recipes and sharing with you in something we call our Friday Finds.

Every week we’ll be sharing some recipes that we think are inspiring and tips on how we made them gluten free. We’ll also be sharing some original ones too so that you can cook along with us.

This weeks topic is SOUPS!

As I’ve mentioned before, I’m celebrating a white and cold at times Christmas this year. And when they say soup season, it really is soup season! With the chilly weather outside it is the perfect time to curl up with a bowl of soup. And I’m thinking a bowl of my Spicy Lentil Soup might be in order.

I love this soup, warm, hearty and perfect for chilly days or when you’ve got that soup craving. It’s delicious and inviting. We even added some dumplings to make it the perfect hearty meal.

Get the recipe for our Lentil Soup here and check out these other great soup finds.

Butternut Squash Soup: The perfect fall/winter soup and this version from The Busy Baker looks like a winner.

Beef  Soup: There’s nothing like a bowl of Trinidad Beef Soup filled with provision and dumplings to fill you up and warm you through. We’re woking on our own recipe now but this version from Simply Trini Cooking is looking quite delish.

Chicken Noodle Soup: Finally, nothing beats a classic and what’s more classic than Chicken Noodle Soup. This version from Taste of Home is looking yummy. All we’ve got to do is swap out the noodles for some gluten free pasta and we’re good to go!

We hope you like this weeks finds and lookout for one of these recipes remade gluten free coming soon to the blog!
