As you know, pork is considered the other white meat. So when it comes to cooking it, you treat it similar to how you would cook chicken breast to make sure that it isn’t over cooked.

When making these pork chops, follow the cooking directions. You definitely want to ensure that your meat is cooked well. (Raw pork carries bacteria) But you also don’t want to over cook the meat that it ends up tough.

That is actually what led me to creating this recipe. One evening my mum decided to try baking the pork chops and left it too long, making it rubbery and tough. Definitely not what you want to enjoy for dinner.

Fresh Herbs vs Dried Herbs

In all the times that I’ve made this recipe I’ve always used fresh herbs because we have tons in the garden. However you could try making it with dried herbs by reducing the amount that you use. Dried herbs are more potent than fresh herbs. Learn more about fresh and dried herbs here.

Dairy Free

This dish is naturally gluten free. If you want to make it dairy free as well, use you favorite dairy free butter in place of the regular butter.

Skillet

I love my cast iron skillet  but I know many you may not have one. Not a problem, simply use an oven safe skillet that you can sear the meat in and then bake after.
